Week 6 Lab: Empoword

 Chapter 2: Telling A Story

This chapter tells us the different parts and techniques of writing a story. It goes into detail in each of the terms below and tells us how we can use the terms in different ways. The terms below are the terms I thought were most important when it comes to writing a story.

Important Terms:

1. Plot- the events included within the scope of a narrative

2. Scope- the boundaries of a narrative in time, perspective, space, and focus

            - The most impact stories are those that represent something

            - scope should focus on details that fit into the bigger picture

3. Sequence and Pacing- the order of events and the amount of time you give to each event

4. Point of View- the position from which your story is told

5. Tone- the story's language

6. Mood- the emotional register a reader experiences

7. Characterization- the development of characters throughout the story

8. Dialogue- communication between two or more characters
