Reading Notes: The Giant of the Flood, Part A

The Giant of the Flood
  • A flood began so Noah had to round up all of the animals who were able to lay on his ark
  • Suddenly a giant appears (Og) (Noah calls him a demon)
  • Noah really is set on bringing a unicorn in his ark but he has no way of obtaining one
  • The only way Noah can acquire a unicorn is if he allows Og to come on the ark as well
  • Og is scared of starving because the flood is going to kill his food sources
  • Noah tells Og no he is not able to come and takes the unicorn along with him still
  • The unicorn must swim behind the ark because it is too big to get on the ark
  • Og then jumps from a mountain onto the unicorns back and threatens to sink the ship if Noah doesn’t let him come along
  • Noah is scared he will do as he says so he lets Og come and feeds him to keep him happy
  • Noah now has power over Og and Og must act as his servant until Noah says so
  • The rain eventually stops after many days and the water starts to clear away
  • They soon come to land and they start to unload the ship of all the animals
  • Noah makes Og do hard labor and Oh resents Noah because of it
  • Food starts to run low so Noah must go around the Earth and plant seeds
  • He makes Og help him carry the seed around the earth
  • They finally plant the last fruit which is grapes
  • They bless the grape vine because it is food and can be turned into a drink (wine)
  • They kill a pig and a monkey
  • If you drink too much of the juice you begin to become a beast like a pig
  • If you keep drinking you become silly and foolish like a monkey
  • Og goes off and becomes a king
  • He wants to kill the Israelite's instead of helping them
  • When he tried to kill them, he ended up injuring himself instead
  • Moses finished Og off and the giant dies
